STONY PLAIN, AB – Do you know a local business that is an outstanding contributor to our community? The Town of Stony Plain is looking for nominations for the Ambassador of Action Award. Eligible nominees must demonstrate improvements or impacts in the following areas: investment in the business’ buildings or facilities, job creation, new or enhanced product or service offerings, and a generated profile as a result of their success.
“Nominating a local business for this annual award is an opportunity for residents to show their appreciation for the business community. Investing in local business is investing in Stony Plain and its future,” says Mayor William Choy, “This year’s award winner will be recognized for outstanding innovation and achievements placing the Town at the forefront of economic development.”
The Town has presented the Ambassador of Action Business Award to local businesses since the program was launched in 2009. The recipient chosen makes an impact on its business and the community through demonstrated improvement, innovation and expansion. The intent is to acknowledge the many hard-working people who continually exhibit passion for business excellence and who advance responsible business practices and leadership.
“There are many businesses in Stony Plain that have transformed and advanced their operations to be more competitive, and the Town wants to highlight these stories and applaud their successes,” Choy says. “We encourage all residents, customers, employees and business owners to nominate a local business they believe is an Ambassador of Action.”
Cheryl Nichyporuk is the owner of Stony Plain Wellness & Compounding Pharmacy, and last year’s Ambassador of Action Award winner. “When we opened our pharmacy, our vision was to contribute to our community in becoming a healthier place,” Nichyporuk goes on to say, “Over the years, we have strived to provide innovative services to make sure that our actions hold true to that vision. Winning the Ambassador of Action Award was an exciting and amazing experience for us. It's a wonderful feeling to have your efforts recognized!”
