TransAlta renews sponsorship to Tri Leisure Centre with 10-year commitment and $1.9-million investment
Edmonton and Area – The TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre (TLC) serves more than 70,000 residents from Stony Plain, Spruce Grove and Parkland County. As the organization marks its 10th anniversary in the Tri-Municipal Region, it is also celebrating a renewed partnership with TransAlta. For the past decade, TransAlta has been the naming sponsor of the facility in exchange for essential sponsorship dollars.
“As a major economic contributor in the region for more than 50 years, TransAlta believes in giving back to the communities where our employees live, work and play by investing in organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people,” says Lou Florence, vice-president of TransAlta’s Alberta Coal Operations, located 70 km west of Edmonton.
“TransAlta’s sponsorship translates to an investment in the residents of the communities we serve,” says Darren Badry, chairman of the Tri-Municipal Leisure Facility Corporation’s board of directors. “Renewing our partnership for another 10 years shows just how much TransAlta supports our vision of being a regional leader in healthy and active lifestyles.”
