The Town of Stony Plain, Parkland County, City of Spruce Grove, and the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre have been working together over the past year to develop a regional event hosting strategy for the Tri-Municipal Region. There is a strong history amongst the regional partners of working together and this is one more example. The development of the strategy is being funded by a Regional Collaboration Grant provided by the Province.
The Regional Event Hosting Strategy will help position the partners to support the attraction of sport, cultural, recreation and business events to the region. It is becoming more common for municipalities to develop these strategies as the benefits of event hosting are recognized. The partners in the Tri Municipal Region understand this and believe that the development of their own strategy will benefit the region.
Identified in the strategy are approaches, resources and supports than can help the region further its event hosting potential. The implementation of the strategy will be an ongoing effort by the partners in collaboration with community stakeholders and groups.
A draft Regional Event Hosting Strategy has now been developed and is ready for public review. Please provide your feedback and share your opinions by filling out the 3 question survey.
