Special StudiesIn order to ensure that the Town is meeting the needs of the community and fulfilling its mandate, the planning and development division conducts special studies, as required. These documents are advisory only and are intended to assist in decision-making.
The following studies are presently available:
Transportation Study (2011)The Transportation Study integrates the four cogs of sustainability to develop a plan that is consistent with the Town of Stony Plain's present and long-term priorities - such as creating a pedestrian-friendly community, for example. Included in the study is a detailed analysis of traffic, examined from the perspective of safety and capacity.
The Study was developed to plan for continued, well-planned growth. In addition to the travel demand aspects of a project of this nature, the Study also introduces aspects of sustainable transportation, alternative modes of transportation and promoting a connected community - in accordance with the mandate of the Town's Community Sustainability Plan and the council-created Transportation Working Group.
