The Town of Stony Plain is providing free document shredding for residents in order to help prevent consumer fraud and identity theft. On Saturday, September 30, residents can bring their confidential documents to the Rotary Recycling Facility (4505 50th Avenue) between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., where they will be shredded on-site. Shred-It® trucks containing cutting-edge proprietary paper shredding technology will safely and securely dispose of and recycle any obsolete personal information.
Residential garbage is picked up every two weeks, with neighbourhood districts assigned specific days of the week for collection. Blue Bag(s) Recycling is collected every week, all-year-round, and Organicarts are collected every week, from mid-April to mid-October, and every two weeks, from mid-October to mid-April.
The Town needs your help on your waste collection day. Waste Carts, Blue Bag(s) Recycling, and Organicarts must be out by the curb, at the point of collection, before 7AM on your collection day. Please ensure that your garbage, recyclables, yard trimmings and food scraps are placed at the curb correctly. Lids must be completely closed, and there must be at least one metre in all directions.
If your garbage was not picked up on your regularly scheduled day, please call 780.963.2469, or send an email.
If you have just moved to Stony Plain, you do not need to arrange collection services. If you have just moved into a newly built home, the Town will set up your service automatically, once you have received your occupancy permit.
