Veterans Boulevard Lane & Sidewalk Closure

As part of an ongoing water line project, one northbound lane of Veterans Blvd and the adjacent sidewalk (from 44 Ave to Graybriar Dr) will be closed starting early this week until April 15, 2025.

Expect construction activity in the area, including hydrovac trucks, excavators, and more. Access will be maintained for residents north of the CN rails.

High Speed Fibre Optic Internet Installation Continues in 2025

STONY PLAIN, AB: The High-Speed Fibre Optic Internet Installation project continues into 2025, expanding fibre optic internet service to more areas in Stony Plain. Construction began on February 4 in the area from 52 Street to 50 Street and between 49 Avenue and 56 Avenue. Work will also begin February 10 on 49 Avenue and Golf Course Road, where a southbound lane on Golf Course Road (between 49 Avenue and Fairway Drive) will be closed for approximately seven days during construction, weather...

Groundwork Begins on Community Recreation Facility Site

STONY PLAIN, AB: Mobilization for the new Community Recreation Facility has officially begun. Temporary fencing has been installed around the site, and groundwork is underway as crews prepare for construction. Once complete, the new Community Recreation Facility will offer a wide range of amenities, including a six-sheet curling rink, a walking and running track, multi-purpose sport courts, pickleball courts, a turf field, and more.

Public Works Building Construction Update - November 14

Progress continues on the new Public Works Building! Trusses are now in place, and the parking lot is complete with fresh paving and painted lines. The project is part of the 2024-2027 Corporate Plan, aimed at ensuring Stony Plain's infrastructure meets the growing needs of the community.

57 Avenue Culvert Replacement

********UPDATE November 8, 2024 @ 4PM********

The culvert replacement project on 57 Avenue, which began in July 2024, has been successfully completed. The section of 57 Avenue east of 47 Street, along with the corresponding trail to the north, is now open to the public.
