Groundwork Begins on Community Recreation Facility Site

STONY PLAIN, AB: Mobilization for the new Community Recreation Facility has officially begun. Temporary fencing has been installed around the site, and groundwork is underway as crews prepare for construction. Once complete, the new Community Recreation Facility will offer a wide range of amenities, including a six-sheet curling rink, a walking and running track, multi-purpose sport courts, pickleball courts, a turf field, and more.

Public Works Building Construction Update - November 14

Progress continues on the new Public Works Building! Trusses are now in place, and the parking lot is complete with fresh paving and painted lines. The project is part of the 2024-2027 Corporate Plan, aimed at ensuring Stony Plain's infrastructure meets the growing needs of the community.

57 Avenue Culvert Replacement

The culvert replacement project on 57 Avenue, which began in July 2024, has been successfully completed. The section of 57 Avenue east of 47 Street, along with the corresponding trail to the north, is now open to the public.

Veteran's Boulevard Lane Closure

Starting October 24, one of the two northbound lanes on Veteran's Boulevard will be closed due to construction work related to a Water Commission Expansion Project to connect a new fill line to the High Park Reservoir. The closure is expected to remain in effect until November 30. During this time, there will be a speed reduction of 30 km/h in the construction zone.
