Umbach Storm Pond Construction Update - January 31

Construction crews will be on location at the Umbach Storm Pond 24/7 from February to May 2023. Please be advised work will result in construction noise outside of regular operational hours. The change in working hours is to expedite the construction of the Umbach Storm Pond over the winter months.

The Umbach Off-Leash Dog Park remains open. Please watch for construction vehicles, and make sure to keep your dog on a leash outside the park.

Umbach Storm Pond Construction Update - January 25

Crews will be on location Thursday, January 26 and Monday, January 30 to load and transport equipment from the construction site. Traffic in the area will be impacted around 11 a.m. on the Thursday, and 7 p.m. on the following Monday. Traffic controls will be in place to direct motorists and limit wait times.

While work will not impact the status of the Umbach Off-Leash Dog Park, park users may experience delays getting to and from the park.

Umbach Storm Pond Construction Update - January 12

Crews will be on location Friday, January 13 and Saturday, January 14 to transport equipment. On Saturday, traffic may be impacted between 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. as large equipment is walked out of the construction site. Traffic controls will be in place to direct motorists and reduce wait times.

The work will not impact the status of the Umbach Off-Leash Dog Park; however, park users may experience delays getting to and from the park.

49th Avenue Traffic Disruption

DECEMBER 15 UPDATE: A full closure along 49th Avenue between the Sonora apartment complex and Burger King, and along Brown Street north of 50th Avenue beings today at 9:30 a.m. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible and follow traffic controls in place.

Umbach Storm Pond Construction Update - December 9

Construction at the Umbach Storm Pond will be commencing next week and ramping up throughout December and into January. There will be an increased number of construction vehicles accessing the site with measures taken to limit construction traffic to early morning and late afternoon.
