Fees and Charges Bylaw Given First Reading
Council gave First Reading to the Fees and Charges Bylaw after Administration reviewed Town fees as part of the corporate planning process. Currently, Town fees are spread across multiple bylaws and policies. Administration recommended incorporating stand-alone bylaws and policies into one consolidated bylaw with an updated fee schedule. This unified bylaw and policy structure is common practice within the municipal sector.

Residents impacted by flooding can apply for provincial funding
Were you impacted by flooding this summer? The Town has officially been approved for the provincial Disaster Recovery Program. If you are a Stony Plain resident whose home, business, or property incurred damages from flooding between July 6 – 23, you may be eligible to receive funding from the Government of Alberta.

Temporary Road Closure

Main Street, from 51 to 52 Avenue will be temporarily closed November 12 and 13 for most of the day to accommodate concrete pouring at the new downtown library/Three Robins construction project. Detours will be in effect. The road will reopen on November 14 to regular traffic.

Christmas Ornaments are back and ready for pick up beginning November 15
The sixth annual Town of Stony Plain Christmas ornaments are hot off the printer and ready to adorn your Christmas tree. This year, the unique ornaments are the product of 3D printing done at the Stony Plain Public Library. They will be available for pick up during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at Town Office starting November 15.
