57 Avenue Extension October 23 Update

Road construction is continuing. Weather and site conditions have set back the completion of the road. The Town is working closely with Alberta Infrastructure on the school/parking lot design and accesses. The extension of 57 Avenue to the new school site should be completed to a gravel state by the end of this construction season. Paving and completion of the road extension will be scheduled for the spring of 2020.
JPII Access Road October 23 Update

The Town has completed the underground work for the future access road to St. John Paul II School. Alberta Transportation (AT) will complete the road as part of their Highway 779 Rehabilitation project in 2020. In the meantime AT has completed the new paved trail, providing pedestrian accessibility from Willow Park Road.
Downtown Redevelopment October 18 Update

Construction is moving along quickly; benches are being completed, crosswalks are being poured and stamped, curbs are being poured, sidewalks are going in and the last of the paving is happening followed by line painting. Sandblasting (sidewalk concrete design work) of Main Street (east side) is set to take place this Sunday. Starting Monday, the west side of Main Street will only be accessible from the north, near CIBC, to accommodate prepping and pouring the sidewalk. Pedways will be installed...

Treat and Treasure Hunt scheduled for a third run at the annual Christmas Light Up
Do you hear what I hear? The annual Christmas Light Up is almost a month away! The family-friendly evening of holiday cheer will take place on Thursday, November 21 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Town Christmas Tree will light up at 7:30 p.m. and there will be fun, festive events and a live DJ throughout the evening.

Rotary Park and Shikaoi Park Maintenance

Trails in Rotary Park are set to be paved within the next week. If you are visiting the park, please watch for crews and keep away from the construction zone.
Pond reconstruction, park maintenance and Black Knot removal is also set to begin in Shikaoi Park on October 21. The current pond is leaking and in need of repair.
