Highway 779 Detour

The detour for the Highway 779 Road Closure from Highway 628 to Willow Park Road (south entrance) is now in effect.
Willow Park Road is a residential area and not part of the detour route. Local Traffic Only signs are posted in the construction zone. Local traffic only includes Willow Park residents.
All other traffic including residents from Westerra and Genesis should detour via Golf Course Road. Do not use Willow Park Road/Willow Way to detour the construction zone.
Stony Plain Introduces Neighbours Day

Let’s Get Together! Get involved in Stony Plain’s first ever Neighbours Day celebration – a day to get together with neighbours to connect, celebrate and build community. Neighbours Day 2019 will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
To participate, invite 10 neighbours to a get-together on September 21. Your event can be as simple as going on a group walk or having coffee on your driveway. Get your Neighbours Day kit at Stony Plain FCSS and display your yard sign to show your neighbourhood pride....

Electronic Utility Billing
For the last six months residents of Stony Plain have been encouraged, through a social media campaign, to sign up for their utility bill to be emailed as opposed to mailed to them. The idea was brought to Council in February as a way to cut costs and be more environmentally friendly. Town Council Allocates $350,000 to a Flood Prevention Plan

Council approved $250,000 for a Storm Water Mitigation Project and $100,000 for a Sanitary Manhole Flooding Protection Retrofit Project. The decision follows the two major flooding events in Stony Plain this summer. After the massive rains hit our community, the Town conducted a preliminary assessment of the performance of the existing infrastructure and flood risk areas. CN Rail Crossing Maintenance

CN has notified the Town of Stony Plain of the following rail crossing closures:
- Thursday, August 22, 2019 – 50 Street: 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- Friday, August 23, 2019 – 48 Street: 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
During the closures, crews will remove existing hardwood panels, surface to match top of rail on North Track and re-install existing hardwood panels and pave approaches.
