Appointment of Deputy Mayor
Councillor Bruce Lloy is now the Deputy Mayor for the Town of Stony Plain. The position of Deputy Mayor rotates among Council with each serving a four month term. Town of Stony Plain Reinforces Commitments to Partnership and Advocacy

During tonight’s Regular Meeting, Stony Plain Council accepted an update on the Town’s Advocacy Strategy. Advocacy with regional partners and other levels of government is one of the tools used to manage external factors with the potential to impact the Town’s ability to achieve strategic priorities. For the first time in history, Stony Plain will be hosting a Poet Laureate – a cultural and literary ambassador, a champion for poetry, and representative through original works that reflect on our community and life. The Town of Stony Plain, in partnership with its sister town of Shikaoi, Japan, is in search of one individual to fill the position of Assistant Language Teacher (ALT).
