Stony Plain, AB: Pitch-In Week returns to Stony Plain from April 26 to May 4, 2025. Volunteers, residents, schools, businesses, and community organizations are invited to “pitch-in” to clean up litter and debris throughout the community. Town of Stony Plain Seasonal Road Bans Begin March 31

STONY PLAIN, AB: Seasonal Road Bans will take effect in Stony Plain on March 31 until May 31 to protect local roads from damage caused by heavy vehicles during the spring thaw. The Town has implemented a 75 per cent axle load road ban on all residential and collector roads within Town boundaries.
“By implementing seasonal road bans, we’re aiming to prevent costly damage and ensure our roadways remain safe and accessible for all users,” says Mayor William Choy.

STONY PLAIN, AB: At the Regular Council Meeting on March 24, Council passed the Cemetery Bylaw. The bylaw was first introduced to Council on December 9, 2024, with minor amendments made before second and third readings. The passing of this bylaw marks a key milestone as the Town of Stony Plain moves closer to opening the non-denominational municipal cemetery in 2026.

Bylaw 2710/G/24 – Cemetery Bylaw Receives Second and Third Readings
The Cemetery Bylaw was brought to Council on December 9, 2024, for first reading. This bylaw outlines the rules regarding interment rights, marker installation, maintenance standards, and conduct within the cemetery to provide clear, high-level regulations for the Town and public.
