Stony Plain Q1 Residential Permit Values Exceed $10 Million

Stony Plain housing starts point toward strong growth for the municipality in 2022.
First quarter residential construction comprised of 62 housing starts, including 13 single-detached dwellings and 49 high-density dwellings with a combined estimated construction value of $13.1 million. Compared to the first quarter of 2021, housing starts are down 3%; however, residential permit values are up.

Updates to Land Use Bylaw Make Way for Stony Plain’s New Housing Strategy
A public hearing for the Land Use Bylaw was held at last night’s Council Meeting. The bylaw was also given second and third reading. The update has been brought forward as a new bylaw that repeals the current bylaw for the purpose of implementing Stony Plain’s new Housing Strategy.
