Fire Restriction Issued for Stony Plain

The Town of Stony Plain is implementing a fire restriction effective May 29, 2023. This will allow the use of approved recreational (back yard) fire pits, smokers, and other solid fuel appliances, with the normal conditions.
Fire permits for open burning on the fringe farmland will be restricted until conditions improve.
Please ensure smoking materials are disposed of in appropriate metal containers and kept wet. Do not throw cigarettes into backyard vegetation or from vehicles onto the roadway....
Requests for Support During Alberta Wildfires

The Town of Stony Plain and the Fire Department specifically have received a number of offers of support for our neighbouring communities during the wildfire crisis. We appreciate the offer to help, however, in emergencies of this magnitude it is important that we clearly understand the needs required and allow the formalized channels to react to those needs. Residential Street Sweeping - Update May 30, 2023 Copy

Wednesday, May 31, crews will be finishing in Old Town and then moving onto Folkstone and Brickyard.
The Roads Crew began Residential Street Sweeping on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Signs will be posted the day before sweeping starts. Please remove all vehicles and driveway ramps. Dates and estimated schedules are weather dependent. Crews will not be in areas during garbage collection.
