Get into the Holiday Spirit with Winter Light Up

Dig out the decorations and get the eggnog ready – a month of winter festivities are on their way! This year’s Winter Light Up has been modified to create a safe and family-friendly festival throughout the month of December. The local celebration will include a number of festive activities including a modified version of the annual Town Christmas Tree lighting, an activity advent calendar, and a New Year’s Eve fireworks show.

Eighth Annual Christmas Ornaments Bring a Shimmer to the Holidays

The eighth annual Town of Stony Plain Christmas Ornaments are here and ready for pick up! This year’s ornaments are festive stained glass that will bring a shimmer to your tree. Christmas ornaments will be available at the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce office beginning November 19.
Each year, the Town Christmas ornaments are created in partnership with a local Stony Plain artist or organization. This year’s stained glass ornaments were created by artist Buffy Trimble.

The Town is developing a Poverty Reduction Action Plan and is calling on residents to get involved.
According to the Town’s Poverty Reduction Strategy released in 2021, one in seven residents struggles to maintain a basic living. Reducing poverty is a key pillar in the Town’s developmental goals.
