Final Phase of the Meridian Housing Foundation Mural Unveiled

The final mural of the Meridian Housing Foundation series has been unveiled. 'Shaping the Future' by artist James McKay represents the future of healthcare, depicting innovations currently in development and imagining those yet to come. The newest artwork marks Stony Plain’s 40th mural.

Highway 779 Update - September 9

Alberta Transportation has provided the following update on the Highway 779 construction project.

Crews completed paving the final lift of asphalt on the project on Tuesday, September 7. Line painting will resume on Saturday, September 11 and continue through the week end and into early next week as needed. Temporary, localized lane closures will be in place.

Downtown Redevelopment Update - September 9

Paving begins Friday, September 10. 

We remind you that barricades will be in place for the construction period. 

The temporary turn around will be moved south on Main Street between 51 and 52 Avenue for the duration of the concrete work and paving.  No parking signs will be in place at the temporary turnaround to ensure drivers can safely use the turnaround. 

Free Paper Shredding with Town’s Annual Shred-It Event

Get your papers ready for the return of Shred-It. On September 25, Residents will be able to bring boxes of papers to the Rotary Recycling Centre for shredding and safe disposal.

TELUS PureFibre Construction Begins

TELUS PureFibre® construction will begin on September 13 in the Forest Green neighbourhood, on September 20 in Woodlands and Southridge and on October 4 in Fairways.

The scope of construction will encompass shallow utility installation in the Utility Right of Way in front of homes as well as on private properties (with permission from property owners).  All construction is set to be complete in November.
