Downtown Redevelopment Update - September 2

Paving and concrete work will begin next week. Barricades will be in place from September 9-17. The east alley closure behind the Stony Plain Hotel will begin on September 7 and continue to September 11.

The temporary turn around will be moved south on Main Street between 51 and 52 Avenue for the duration of the concrete work and paving.

Golf Course Road Construction Update – September 2

Crews have completed all asphalt work. Line marking will be done when weather allows. In addition, the trail has been restored along the east side of the road. Thank you for your patience. This project is now complete.

Highway 779 Update - September 1

Alberta Transportation has informed the town that on Tuesday September 7, 48 Street will be closed to both north and southbound traffic from the north side of 49 to 47 Avenue between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The closure is required to accommodate final paving around the railway tracks within the CN controlled right-of-way. A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood with the Return of Neighbours' Day

STONY PLAIN, AB: Will you be my neighbour? Neighbours' Day is returning to Stony Plain on September 18. Residents are encouraged to plan neighbourhood activities to get to know their neighbours, build community, and strengthen Stony Plain spirit. 

Neighbours' Day was first introduced to Town in 2019 as a Mayor’s Task Force initiative. Residents participate in the event by registering as ‘Neighbourhood Connectors’ who are then tasked with organizing a community event.
