The Town is launching an online Interactive Map to give residents an opportunity to share feedback on transportation infrastructure within Stony Plain. The Interactive Map will remain active until July 31. Everyone in the community is invited to participate and make their opinion count.

Cultural Campfires return for the second year with new stories and storytellers. This summer, Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services, in partnership with the Multicultural Heritage Centre is bringing eight cultural campfires to our community. The series runs each Thursday evening at 6p.m. starting July 9 until August 27.

Get Creative with Stony Plain’s Graffiti Project

Spray cans at the ready! The Town is partnering with artists Daphne Côté and AJA Louden to host a public art project featuring an introduction to the graffiti art style. The program will include a demonstration of street art mural techniques open to the public and an additional workshop for youth in the community.

Highway 779 Construction Update June 25

Alberta Transportation’s (AT) Highway 779 Project continues with grade widening between 57 Avenue and 55 Avenue. Curb and gutters are scheduled to be poured this Friday (June 26) and Saturday (June 27). Grade widening is progressing along 49 Avenue and south along 48 Street from 49 Avenue with excavation of the roadway extending down to 51 Avenue. Judy Bennett Appointed Deputy Mayor
Councillor Judy Bennett has been appointed as the acting Deputy Mayor as of last night’s meeting. Each Council member serves two terms as Deputy Mayor within their Council term. Bennett will service as Deputy Chief Elected Official from June 22 to October 31 or until the appointment of the next Deputy Mayor.
