CN Track Work on Golf Course Road - May 21

CN has informed the Town that they will be closing the rail crossing on Golf Course Road on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for track repairs. Golf Course Road will be closed to traffic south of the Homesteads subdivision and north of 49 Avenue for the duration of the track work. Please use alternate routes. Town Prepares for Outdoor Pool and Spray Park Reopening

After a year of being closed, the Town is excited to announce the Stony Plain Outdoor Pool will be open by the end of May. The Rotary Spray Park is scheduled to open in early June.
The announcement follows direction provided by Alberta Health Services (AHS). At this time, only private bookings will be permitted at the pool in line with AHS guidelines. Additional pool programs will be offered as restrictions allow.

Highway 779 Update - May 13

Work continues on the 49 Ave widening, east of 48 Street. Crews will be placing granular base course for the widening starting later today and through the weekend. The curb and gutter is scheduled to get poured early next week and paving of the widening is anticipated for late next week.
The granular base course on the multi-use trail will be completed by the end of today. The trail should be paved and open for use by early next week.

Plant a Purple Garden to Uproot Elder Abuse

Do you have a flower barrel or garden area that you or your organization could dedicate to plant purple flowers? In recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, members of the TriRegion Elder Abuse (TREA) Coordinated Community Response Network are asking for volunteers to host a “Elder Abuse Awareness” flower garden.
