Off-Site Levy Bylaw Scheduled for Public Hearing
After a first reading of the Off-site Levy Bylaw, Council has authorized Administration to proceed with a public hearing. Off-site Levies are a charge assessed to development lands at the time of subdivision or development agreement used to pay for off-site infrastructure associated with that development. The purpose of Off-Site Levies is to ensure funds are available for growth infrastructure projects, and that growth pays for growth.

Highway 779 Update for May 7, 2021

Work began on widening 49 Ave east of 48 Street on Monday May 3rd. Construction on 49 Ave is anticipated to continue until the end of May.
The outside northbound lane is closed from 49 Ave to south of 52 Ave to accommodate removal of the curb & gutter and sidewalk along the east side of 48 Street. The lane will remain closed for the next few weeks until construction of the new curb, gutter and sidewalk have been completed.

Business License Fee Rebate Introduced for 2021

A rebate program for business licenses in Stony Plain is now open for application. The 2021 Business License Fee Rebate provides a 50 per cent rebate to resident businesses whose operations have been negatively impacted by the global health pandemic. Businesses will be able to apply for the program until May 31, 2021.
