Tax Rate Bylaw Given First, Second, and Third Readings
Council gave first, second, and third readings to the 2020 taxation rate bylaw during last night’s meeting. With the new bylaw in place, the projected tax increase of 4.26% for 2020 was reduced to 1% as discussed in the 2020 Spring Budget Adjustments in response to COVID-19.

Each year Alberta designates a special week to recognize and acknowledge the valuable contributions Seniors’ make to our communities. This year, our Annual Seniors’ Week is June 1 - June 7, 2020. In recognition, Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is launching an Adopt A Window - Seniors Week project. Downtown Redevelopment Construction Update May 11

Construction downtown continues to move forward. Wayfinding signs have been installed to help pedestrians locate businesses in the area and sidewalks remain open. Temporary water on the west side of Main Street will be connected today with the east side of the road connected on Thursday, May 14.
Stony Plain Golf Course Opens Next Week after the Go-Ahead from the Province

Golfers around the province are hauling out their clubs and getting ready for the long-awaited season. After an initial facility closure in line with public health orders for COVID-19, the Stony Plain Golf Course is at liberty to open to the public.
