Downtown Redevelopment Update - June 30

Downtown Redevelopment construction work continues to progress during the extreme heat. Crews are working early mornings and taking all necessary safety precautions to limit exposure during the high temperatures. Conduit installation has been completed and work on the storm main will continue for the next two weeks. 

Stony Plain Temporary Face Coverings Bylaw Inactive July 1

Alberta is moving to Stage 3 of the provincial Open for Summer plan.  In accordance with mandates set by Alberta Health Services and the Government of Alberta, the Stony Plain Temporary Face Coverings Bylaw will be inactive beginning July 1.

STONY PLAIN, AB: Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is officially transitioning to its new role as the Community and Social Development (C&SD) department within the Town structure. Stony Plain FCSS will begin the process of retiring its name and merging online accounts with the Town of Stony Plain.

Councillor Eric Meyer Appointed Deputy Mayor

Councillor Eric Meyer has been appointed as Deputy Chief Elected Official. The position of Deputy Mayor is undertaken by each Council member twice within their Council term. Councillor Meyer will serve within the role until October 31, 202 or until the appointment of the next Deputy Chief Elected Official.
