Councillor Bruce Lloy Appointed Deputy Mayor
Councillor Bruce Lloy is now the Deputy Mayor. Each Council member serves two terms as Deputy Mayor within their Council term. Councillor Lloy will serve as Deputy Mayor from February 22, 2021 until June 30, 2021 or until the appointment of the next Deputy Mayor.

Stony Plain FCSS Joins Town of Stony Plain
The integration of Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) into the Town of Stony Plain corporate structure has been approved. On September 9, 2020, the FCSS Board passed a unanimous motion recommending the complete integration of Stony Plain FCSS into the Town with Council assuming the governance and strategic responsibilities. The nomination period for the 2021 Municipal Election is open! Residents with an interest in local governance and a passion for the community are invited to run for Town Council.
Stony Plain residents over the age of 18 are eligible to run in the Municipal Election. Approval Received to Legally Form a Regional Transit Services Commission

Alberta’s government has approved the formation of a new regional services commission for the Edmonton Metropolitan Region with a mandate for improving regional transit and mobility.
