The Annual Christmas Tree Chipping Event Returns for 2020

The woodchipper is gassed up and ready to go – Christmas Tree Chipping is back! The annual event invites community members to dispose of their trees at the Rotary Recycling Centre to be chipped and made into mulch for use in community landscaping.
Stony Plain residents can participate in the green initiative by bringing their Christmas tree to the Rotary Recycling Centre (4505 50 Avenue) between December 26 and January 17. Trees must be unwrapped and free of any decorations. All trees need to be dropped...

Tri-Region Moves Forward with Regional Plan
Together with regional partners, the Town is moving forward with the Tri-Municipal Regional Plan (TMRP). Council was presented with the plan during last night’s meeting and have accepted the update for information. Following the signing of a letter of intent in January of 2019, Parkland County, the City of Spruce Grove, and the Town of Stony Plain have worked in collaboration to develop the TMRP. Councils Updated on Progress of the Tri-Municipal Regional Plan

This week, presentations were made to the Councils of Parkland County, the City of Spruce Grove and the Town of Stony Plain providing important updates on the progress of the work being done in support of the Tri-Municipal Regional Plan (TMRP). Work began on the TMRP following the municipalities signing a letter of intent and securing funding from Western Economic Diversification in January 2019. Town Poet Laureate Joins Council for Project Update
Lisa Mulrooney, Town Poet Laureate, joined Council for a presentation on her creative endeavours in Stony Plain over the last year. Mulrooney has been involved in a number of projects since her appointment in February of 2019 including participating in local programs and events. More recently, the poet has undertaken an additional public art project which is scheduled for installation at Rotary Park before the end of 2020.
