Regional Recreation Centre Approved for Design

The development of a Regional Recreation Centre in Stony Plain is moving forward. Council has approved proceeding to the detailed design of a recreational facility to be located at the Glenn Hall Arena site in Old Town South. The design will focus on a capital project budget of $15,000,000.

Town Receives Ninth Consecutive Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

The Town of Stony Plain’s 2019 Annual Report has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for their Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CanFR). This is the ninth consecutive year the Town has received the award.
Reports submitted to the CanFR program undergo an intensive review process by select members of the GFOA and a review committee. Criteria for the award includes the spirit of full disclosure designed to clearly communicate a municipality’s financial story....
