Town Allows Temporary Outdoor Patios and Canopy/Tents for Restaurants

With the recent re-implementation of Step One COVID-19 restrictions, the Town has taken steps to ensure restaurant owners can safely serve the public with outdoor dining spaces. The restrictions have once again limited food industry businesses to take out and outdoor dining. Indoor dining is currently prohibited.

2021 Municipal Election Call for Workers

The Town is now hiring workers for the 2021 Municipal Election. Election workers are paid positions open to anyone 18 years and older.
All workers must be able to attend a training session in preparation for the election. Election workers will commit to working Election Day on October 18, 2021 from 8AM to approximately 10PM. Opportunities to work Advanced Voting Station will also be available.

Tri-Municipal Regional Plan Update

Town Responds to Oil Contamination at North Business Park

Alberta Environment informed the Town of an oil contamination in the North Business Park on April 7 at approximately 2PM. A used oil drum placed by an unknown source was found leaking into a nearby creek west of Lions Campground.
Alberta Environment identified the incident as an Environmental Disaster requiring immediate action. On April 7, booms were placed in the creek and the culvert blocked to prevent any oil travelling north west passed the Lions Campground. Environmental consultants were on...
