Highway 779 Construction Update June 15

Alberta Transportation reopened the intersection of 48 Street (Hwy 779) and 57 Avenue at 7:00AM this morning. Detour signs in the area have been removed by construction crews.

Alberta Transportation has informed the Town the opening of the 57th Avenue intersection has been delayed. It is anticipated that the work will be completed and the intersection reopened to traffic on Monday, June 15.

Highway 779 Construction Update June 12

Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town that concrete and granular base work for the Highway 779 Construction Project has been completed at 57 Avenue West. Paving of the intersection is scheduled for Friday, June 12 with a plan to reopen the intersection to traffic by the end of the day. Excavation for grade widening along the west side of 48 Street between 57 Avenue and 55 Avenue has been completed. Crews will begin work on the road embankment beginning Monday, June 15.

All sanitary and water services have been installed on 51 Avenue as part of Downtown Redevelopment. Construction will proceed as weather permits.
