Social Services Support for COVID-19 Funding Criteria

Overview
The Alberta Government is providing $30 million to municipalities, charitable and non-profit organizations to provide help to individuals, seniors, families and other vulnerable Albertans who are isolated or impacted by measures to contain COVID-19.

Town of Stony Plain Responds to COVID-19

In line with Government of Alberta (GOA) directives, the Town of Stony Plain has closed Town Hall to the public and is restricting the use of local playgrounds. The Town is working closely with the GOA to ensure the health and safety of all community members and staff.

Sommerville Springs Scheduled for Demolition

After meeting in court for a stay on the demolition order administered to the Sommerville Springs development, the Town is officially at liberty to proceed with the demolition order. A contract has been awarded to Visco Demolition and demolition is expected to begin in the coming weeks with construction continuing until June 30.

Update March 13: The Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce has postponed this event until further notice due to COVID - 19.---Community members are invited to Connect with Council at this year’s Tri-Expo & Marketplace. The annual event is hosted by the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce at the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre from April 3 to April 5.
