July 2019 is on Track to be the Second Wettest in the Last 20 Years

Two months in a row now, the Town of Stony Plain has seen an incredible amount of rain.
According to Environment Canada, looking at the last 20 years, June 2019 saw 124.9 mm, second only to 2011 when the Town saw 133.1 mm.

The Town is looking for local individuals to participate in the Long Stay Volunteer Program in Shikaoi, Japan. Highway 779 July 12th Update

Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town, the intersection of Hwy 628 (79 Ave) and Hwy 779 (48 St) will be down to one lane of alternating traffic on Monday July 15th and Tuesday July 16th. The underground crew is continuing work on the storm line at that intersection. Flag people will be in place controlling the intersection as the storm line is installed across Hwy 628.
