Mural Unveiling – CN Tunnel

Stony Plain, alongside local artist Daphne Cote, will be unveiling a new mural dedicated to the youth of the community in the CN Rail Tunnel on July 18 at 4:30 p.m.

The new mural, entitled “Riders”, is the first non-historical mural commissioned by the Town. It depicts Stony Plain’s active riders at the BMX Park and the skateboard Park.  In 2017, an event was held at the Stony Plain Youth Centre where youth of the community, staff members and Cote worked together to paint the mural.

Appointment of Deputy Mayor

Town Council appointed Councillor Eric Meyer as Deputy Chief Elected Official for the term of June 24 to October 31, 2019. This four-month position will require Councillor Meyer to serve as acting mayor in the Mayor’s absence. Councillor Meyer was elected in the fall of 2017 and is serving his first term on Town Council.
