Highway 779 June 14 Update

Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town they will be paving the southern portion of Hwy 779 from the Town limits to just south of Hwy 628 (79 Ave). Traffic will be reduced to one way for most of the day. As well, new curbs and gutters will be poured on the SW and NW corners of Hwy 628.

Downtown Redevelopment Begins

Downtown Redevelopment is now underway on Main Street.
Trees in line with replacement underground infrastructure were recently removed as the roots would have sustained damage eventually killing the tree. New trees will be installed in soil cells containing the roots and ensuring healthier growth.

Stony Plain Awarded Grant for Storm Water Management Master Plan

The Town of Stony Plain has received a grant from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) in the amount of $136,185.80 for our Storm Water Management Master Plan.
FCM offers grants for municipal environmental projects to allow communities to build on their sustainability strategies. The grant funded 80% of the costs associated with development of the Storm Water Management Master Plan, reducing the cost to our taxpayers.

The Town of Stony Plain has received an honorable mention from the 2019 Hermes Creative Awards for stonyplain.com. Our newly redesigned website was completed by ESolutions and went live on November 15, 2018.

Paving of 41 Avenue in front of Heritage Park is now underway. The project is should be completed within the next 2-3 weeks, depending on weather. Please watch for detour signs and slow down when approaching the construction area.
