The Town of Stony Plain’s 2019 Destination Guide is here! The Destination Guide is your one stop source for exciting events and activities in Stony Plain from May to December. The Guide also contains information about local accommodation and ammenities to make organizing a fun stay in the community easy.

Stony Plain Seeking Artist for New Mural

The Town of Stony Plain is seeking proposals from artists or artist teams to design, develop and paint a community mural which will be installed on the exterior of the Good Samaritan Society building, located at 4800-55 Avenue. The Work will take into consideration the history of the Good Samaritan Society and its impact on the community of Stony Plain.
Submissions are due May 10th, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (MDT)

2019 Treasure Hunt and Large Item Pickup a Few Weeks Away

Stony Plain’s Annual Treasure Hunt and Large Item Pickup is here, once again. The Treasure Hunt will be held from May 3 to 5. During this time, residents are invited to discard any unwanted household items on their curbs, and ‘hunt’ for new treasures of their own throughout their neighbourhood.

Downtown Redevelopment Phase II, III and IV Project Update and Budget Approval

The Town of Stony Plain is gearing up for another construction season; the largest and most exciting project is the Downtown Redevelopment. Administration presented an update to Council at Monday evening’s Regular Council Meeting. There is still work to complete on Phase II this season and simultaneously work will begin on Phase III.
- 2017 Phase I — rear lane improvements
- 2018 Phase II — 50th Street between 54th and 52nd Avenues
- 2019 Phase III — 50th Street between 52nd and 51st Avenues
- 2020 Phase IV — 50
Jane's Walk returns to Stony Plain

The Town of Stony Plain invites local residents to participate in a citizen-led walking tour of Stony Plain. The walk will take place on May 5 at 1p.m. starting and ending at Perks Coffee House. Dianne Duncan, member of both the Volksport Association of Alberta and the Stony Plain Cultural Roundtable, will lead the 2019 walk.
