Celebrating Arbour Day 2019

It’s time to get planting! Every spring, the Town of Stony Plain recognizes the vital role trees play in our environment during Arbour Day—a celebration of community resilience through the planting of trees. Arbour Day 2019 takes place on Saturday, May 25 from 12 to 1:00 p.m. at the Lions Playground. Crews have completed the repair. All residents and businesses may return to normal sanitary usage. Backfill work is taking place and the road will reopen upon completion.

Fill the Boot for Muscular Dystrophy

They’re back and they’ve brought their boot! The Fire Department will be raising awareness for Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC) with the Fill the Boot fundraiser. Residents can come show their support with their spare change at different pop-up locations throughout the summer. There will be four events in which to participate:

• May 18th from 11am-3pm at the CO-OP BBQ Fundraiser
• June 1st at Heritage park, all day.

My-Waste APP Discontinued As Of June 14, 2019

Stony Plain residents can download Recycle Coach to receive the same service

Due to recent changes to Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines, Recycle Coach has been notified that it must discontinue its My-Waste app. Unfortunately, Apple will no longer allow Recycle Coach to release the app under the developer name “Municipal Media Inc.” As a result, My-Waste will not be available for download on iOS/Android stores as of June 14, 2019.
