STONY PLAIN, AB: The Town of Stony Plain has been following the developments of the Jasper wildfire. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this devastating event, and we thank all first responders for their incredible work.
Stony Plain is in regular communication with the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) and is prepared to mobilize resources and support if it is requested. All requests for assistance will come directly from the AEMA. Possible support from Stony Plain could include:

Water Conservation Measures of Non-essential Municipal Water Usage in Effect

As of July 25, 2024, the water restrictions under Water Demand Management Condition A have been lifted in Stony Plain. Municipal operations will now resume normal water use.
The Town extends thanks to everyone for their cooperation and efforts in conserving water during this period.

STONY PLAIN, AB: Stony Plain’s annual Outdoor Movie is back with a special screening of Barbie on Thursday, August 15, at Heritage Park. This free event promises an enjoyable evening for residents and visitors alike. Starting at 7:30 PM, families can enjoy entertainment, concessions, and everyone’s favourite – the Mini Donut Truck! Upcoming Rail Crossing Reconstruction in Stony Plain

The Town of Stony Plain has received additional information from CN Rail about upcoming reconstruction on our local rail crossings. This work will result in an additional closure and detour of the Range Road 12 crossing tomorrow, August 1 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Alternative routes during this time include:
- Highway 779 (48 Street) Crossing
- 50 Street Crossing
- Golf Course Road rail crossing
- Veterans Boulevard rail crossing
- 47 Avenue
