Parkland Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Learning Series for Business Owners and Residents

Posted On Thursday March 04, 2021

The Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce, BadaB Consulting and Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) are proud to present a series of six online learning sessions for local citizens and business owners to increase their knowledge and awareness of the importance of celebrating equity, diversity, and inclusion. Save the dates and plan on attending these short sessions. You will walk away with helpful tips and practical ways to easily implement the concepts of equity, diversity and inclusion into your business and home life.

There has been a shift in our community for increased commitment to inclusion. More and more businesses within our community are recognizing that a diverse and inclusive workplace is a strategic business asset. Being inclusive allows businesses to attract and engage employees, to achieve return on investment, and to better meet customer needs.

“We are working towards a community where diversity is welcomed, recognized and appreciated - a place where all residents and visitors are seen to add to the social, cultural and economic vibrancy of Stony Plain,” says Deanna Butz, Community Development Officer for the Town of Stony Plain FCSS. “Being more inclusive and diverse will increase and strengthen our community’s economic advantage, but most importantly, it will make Stony Plain a better and welcoming community for all. We are excited to work collaboratively with the Greater Parkland Chamber of Commerce and Bada B Consulting on this project. These sessions will highlight the benefits of inclusion, challenge stereotypes of diverse groups, increase understanding and celebrate diversity.”

The first session is on March 18 with Inclusive Leadership Starts with Building Foundations.
