The following Town operated facilities are CLOSED to public access until further notice. View the official news release in our Newsroom.

  • Heritage Park (including Spruce Grove Hall, Parkland Hall and the Pavilion)
  • Stony Plain Public Library
  • Stony Plain Youth Centre (Check out the Virtual Youth Centre)
  • Outdoor rinks
  • Stony Plain Outdoor Pool
  • Rotary Spray Park
  • BMX track

The following facilities have reopened:

  • Tennis and Pickleball courts
  • Basketball courts
  • Playground structures
  • Skate park

Safe practice procedures will be in place. The following will be required from all users:

  • If you have any symptoms (fever, cough, fatigue, etc), stay home and isolate.
  • Sanitize your hands before and after using the courts.
  • Keep your distance, stay away from others. Leave at least 2 metres of space between players at all times.
  • If the court is crowded, head to another court.
  • Each player should bring different coloured balls to the court (or mark the balls brought by each household). Only pick up/touch your own equipment; do not touch your opponent’s equipment.
  • At the end of your match, collect your own equipment and sanitize your hands.
  • Do not shake hands.

The following facilities continue to be open to the public with social distancing and mass gathering public health orders in place:

  • Athletic fields/ball diamonds (casual use only)
  • Community gardens
  • Umbach Off Leash Dog Park
  • Stony Plain Golf Course
  • Trails
  • Parks/greenspaces (casual use only)

Residents are cautioned to exercise social distancing at all times while using outdoor spaces.

The following facilities will remain open with limited public access:

Accessible Transportation

Currently, the Accessible Transporation Service is operating on a normal schedule. Cleaning procedures and frequency have both been enhanced to protect the wellness of passengers and operators.

Town Services

All services are operating as usual including bi-weekly garbage pick up.

Payments can be made through calling the Town office, your web banking, or through the drop box located outside Town Office. The drop box located outside the main door can also be used for dropping off any documents.

Utility Payments

Council has approved the waiver of late payment penalties charged on utility billings for 90-days to provide relief to residents and businesses struggling with the impacts of COVID-19. Visit our Utilities and Water page for more information.

What assistance is the Town offering to utility account holders in response to COVID-19?

On March 25, 2020, Town Council approved the waiver of late payment penalties charged on utility billings for 90-days to provide relief to residents and businesses struggling with the impacts of COVID-19.

Cut-off notices and utility cut-offs are suspended for a 90-day period to ensure everyone has access to services.

If you are unable to make payments on utility bills for these three months, you will have until June 30, 2020 to do so without penalty. You will still receive your bill each month but will not be penalized for late payment.

Can I stop my auto payments for utilities? 
Yes, to stop your auto payments fill out the payment cancellation form or emailed request referencing your account information. If you have any questions call 780-963-2151 (press 0 for reception) or email us
When do I have to pay my utilities? 
You will still receive your bill monthly although penalties will not be applied until July 1st on any unpaid balances as at June 30, 2020. It is highly encouraged that you continue to make your monthly payments if the means are available. 

Tax Payments

Town Council approved the waiver of payment penalties for property taxes. You will not be charged late penalties and will have until August 31 to make payments before penalties kick in September 1. Those who are able are encouraged to pay their property taxes by June 30.Visit our Tax Payments page for more information.
