Temporary Mandatory Face Coverings Bylaw in effect

The Government of Alberta announced a state of public health emergency with further mandatory restrictions in place to stop the spike in COVID-19 cases in the province.

Mandatory Public Health Measures

New mandatory public health measures are in place in communities across Alberta to protect the health system and slow the spread of COVID-19.

We remind you, for the safety of everyone, if you are feeling sick, stay home and contact Alberta Health Services.  

Town Facilities

Town Office

Town Office is now open during normal business hours. We encourage everyone to reduce in-person visits and use online and phone-in services. As in-person services are limited, we advise you to call or email before arriving. Some services will be available via appointment only. Tax payment walk-ins are welcome. 

Visitors to Town Office will be asked to follow physical distancing guidelines. Protective barriers are in place at service desks and staff are following health protocols to reduce the risk of transmission.

Stony Plain Public Library

Community Halls

Heritage Park and the Stony Plain Community Centre remain closed at this time. 

Glenn Hall Centennial Arena

The Glenn Hall Centennial Arena is CLOSED until further notice.   

Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)

Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is closed to walk-in traffic. Please call to make an appointment.

Town Services 

The following Town operated facilities remain closed to public access until further notice: 

Accessible Transportation

Currently, the Accessible Transportation Service is operating on a normal schedule. Cleaning procedures and frequency have both been enhanced to protect the wellness of passengers and operators.

Operational Services

All services are operating as usual including bi-weekly garbage pick up.

Payments can be made through calling the Town office, your web banking, or through the drop box located outside Town Office. The drop box located outside the main door can also be used for dropping off any documents.

Utility Payments

Council has approved the waiver of late payment penalties charged on utility billings for 90-days to provide relief to residents and businesses struggling with the impacts of COVID-19. Visit our Utilities and Water page for more information.

 What assistance is available to me?

Town Council approved the waiver of late payment penalties charged on utility billings for 90-days to provide relief to residents and businesses struggling with the impacts of COVID-19.

Cut-off notices and utility cut-offs are suspended for a 90-day period to ensure everyone has access to services.

If you are unable to make payments on utility bills for these three months, you will have until July 31, 2021 to do so without penalty. You will still receive your bill each month but will not be penalized for late payment. 

 Can I stop my auto payments for utilities?
Yes, to stop your auto payments fill out the payment cancellation form or emailed request referencing your account information. If you have any questions call 780-963-2151 (press 0 for reception) or email us
 When do I have to pay my utilities?
You will still receive your bill monthly although penalties will not be applied until August 1st on any unpaid balances as at July 31, 2021. It is highly encouraged that you continue to make your monthly payments if the means are available.  

Tax Payments

Town Council approved the waiver of payment penalties for property taxes. You will not be charged late penalties and will have until August 31 to make payments before penalties kick in September 1. Those who are able are encouraged to pay their property taxes by June 30.Visit our Tax Payments page for more information.
