Council Meeting Highlights for November 14, 2023
Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23 Receives Second and Third Readings
The Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23 is responsible for regulating the pedestrian and vehicle traffic within the corporate boundaries of the Town of Stony Plain. Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23 was presented for first reading on August 28, 2023.
At last night’s meeting, Council gave second and third readings to Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23.

Business License Bylaw 2679/LIC/23 Receives Second and Third Readings
The Business License Bylaw 2679/LIC/23 received first reading on October 23, 2023. It aims to enhance business-friendliness in Stony Plain by improving clarity, reducing barriers, and collaborating with Spruce Grove. At last night’s Council Meeting, Council approved the Business License Bylaw by passing second and third readings. The approved Bylaw will go into effect on January 1, 2024.

Public Advertisement Bylaw 2681/G/23 Receives First Reading
The proposed Public Advertisement Bylaw outlines how the Town will inform the public about important matters, such as new bylaws and public hearings. It sets clear guidelines for Town staff and ensures the public knows what to expect in terms of notification.
The Public Advertisement Bylaw 2681/G/23 received first reading from Council. A public hearing will be held on December 11, 2023.

Highway Development Strategy Accepted for Information
Administration, in collaboration with V3 Companies of Canada, developed the Highway Development Strategy. It was supported in the 2022-2024 Corporate Plan to boost investment in areas adjacent to Highway 16A and Highway 628.
At last night’s meeting, Council accepted the Highway Development Strategy for information.
