The eighth annual Town of Stony Plain Christmas Ornaments are here and ready for pick up! This year’s ornaments are festive stained glass that will bring a shimmer to your tree. Christmas ornaments will be available at the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce office beginning November 19.

Each year, the Town Christmas ornaments are created in partnership with a local Stony Plain artist or organization. This year’s stained glass ornaments were created by artist Buffy Trimble.

“The partnership with local artists each year shines a spotlight on our creative community, and we’ve seen such incredible diversity since the first ornament was released eight years ago. Buffy did a fantastic job on this year’s ornaments. We can’t wait to see them on everyone’s trees!” says Culture and Tourism Assistant Richelle Jomha.

“The ornaments are a great way to kick off the holiday season in Stony Plain. We have such a rich creative community and it’s wonderful to see local artists work together with the Town each year to bring holiday cheer to residents,” says Mayor William Choy. “It has been great fun collecting Town ornaments over the years, and they’ve truly become a festive favourite.”

While a coupon was needed to collect an ornament in the past, no coupon is required this year. Stony Plain residents can pick up a Christmas ornament from the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce office (4815 44 Avenue) Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. Ornaments will be available until December 17 while supplies last. Please note there is a limit of one ornament per household and proof of Stony Plain residency is required.
