No one can deny this season has been a year of bumps and bruises, but it
has also been a year of reflection, reprioritization, and finding connection in ways we hadn’t explored before.
This holiday season is no different, as we look at what traditions we want to incorporate into this year’s
holiday celebrations, we invite you to add one more to your list - carolling with your community, physically
distanced of course.
“It started with us, with our organizational hats on sitting across the table thinking about the upcoming season
and ways we could connect the community. We were sharing things we personally loved about the holidays.
Then carolling came up and the idea snowballed from there - and what if...became our conversation. Once we
started building it we just knew, this is going to be one of those heartwarming moments you remember about

So what do you need to do? On December 21 at 7 p.m. bring whatever you need to make it special for you -
your hot cocoa, a candle, your ugly Christmas sweater are just some ideas to get into the spirit. We encourage
you to sing from your front porch, doorstep, or your driveway so you can lend your voice to the community.
The local radio station, 88.1 The One will help get the carolling started by broadcasting Jingle Bells, We Wish
You a Merry Christmas, and Silent Night for everyone to sing along starting at 7p.m. but don't let us stop you
there, shout out your favourites and let your neighbors help you keep on carolling.
“We wanted something that everyone could participate in that had no financial, generational, or locational
barriers that would enable our community to connect - all you need to do is sing to participate,” says Kathryn
