Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town that concrete and granular base work for the Highway 779 Construction Project has been completed at 57 Avenue West. Paving of the intersection is scheduled for Friday, June 12 with a plan to reopen the intersection to traffic by the end of the day. Excavation for grade widening along the west side of 48 Street between 57 Avenue and 55 Avenue has been completed. Crews will begin work on the road embankment beginning Monday, June 15.

Grade widening has begun along 49 Avenue west of the 48 Street intersection and south along the west side of 48 Street between 49 and 50 Avenue. The outside southbound lane is closed beginning Friday, June 12 to accommodate construction.

Crews have started layout and construction of the concrete median between 79 Avenue (Highway 779) and Willow Park Road South. During work hours, this section of 48 Street will be down to one lane of alternating traffic controlled by flag people. Topsoil placement and seeding of the boulevards between 79 Avenue and 57 Avenue will continue for the next few days with periodic closures of the outside northbound lane.
