Alberta Transportation has provided an important update on the construction of Highway 779. The northbound lanes at the 52 Avenue intersection will be closed Monday, July 19 and Tuesday, July 20 to accommodate milling and repaving of the northbound lanes. Northbound traffic will be diverted to a temporary lane in the median area and east/westbound traffic will be detoured to 55 Avenue during the closure during the day. If subgrade repairs are not required in the intersection it will be reopened on the milled surface at the end of day Monday and then closed again Tuesday morning for paving. If subgrade repairs are required the intersection will remain closed until the work is complete and the intersection can be safely reopened.
