STONY PLAIN, AB: Join us for a crunchy and colourful evening of community collaboration at the “Lettuce Get to Know Each Other – Salad Bar & Community Conversation,” taking place on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. This event aims to bring residents, community organizations, and stakeholders together in a unique setting to strengthen community bonds, enhance awareness of local service providers, and inspire collaborative efforts to address social issues.

In a region known for its commitment to community engagement, the “Lettuce Get to Know Each Other” event seeks to create a platform where diverse voices can come together. The project aligns with the Town’s vision of establishing a strong social support system, fostering a strong, healthy, and connected community.

“The ‘Lettuce Get to Know Each Other’ initiative reflects our commitment to creating spaces for meaningful community connections,” says Mayor William Choy. “This unique event goes beyond the ordinary and embodies the spirit of our community, offering a non-traditional space for connections to flourish – or ‘leaf out!’”

The event will feature a special guest speaker, Charlene Bearhead, Vice President of Learning and Reconciliation at the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. With over 35 years of regional, national, and international experience, Charlene is an educator, Indigenous education advocate, and author, bringing a wealth of insights on collaboration and community building.
