Stony Plain, AB: It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the Midway Rides at Farmers’ Days 2023 for Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4. This decision has been made due to unforeseen mechanical issues that have emerged during Saturday morning's preparations. The safety and well-being of our attendees are our utmost priorities, and therefore, we are taking this precautionary measure.

The Farmers Days’ organizing committee has been working diligently with the ride operators to ensure a memorable experience for all festival-goers. Unfortunately, after careful assessment, it has been determined that these mechanical issues pose potential risks that could compromise the safety of the riders. Consequently, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Midway Rides for the remainder of Farmers’ Days to ensure everyone's protection.

While this cancellation is undoubtedly disappointing, it is essential to prioritize the safety of our attendees. Farmers’ Days prides itself on providing a family-friendly environment where fun and excitement go hand in hand with security. We are committed to maintaining this reputation and believe that this temporary setback will only make future events more enjoyable and safe.

"Safety is always our top priority when organizing events for our community. While it is disappointing to cancel the Midway Rides, we must prioritize the well-being of our residents and visitors,” says Stony Plain Mayor William Choy. “We are working closely with the Farmers’ Days organizing committee to address the mechanical issues and ensure that future events are both thrilling and safe for everyone."

In the meantime, we encourage all attendees to explore the plethora of other attractions and activities that Farmers’ Days has to offer. From live music performances to delicious food vendors and kids activities, there is still an abundance of entertainment and enjoyment to be found throughout the festival grounds. Visit www.stonyplain.com/farmersdays for the full itinerary.

We express our sincere gratitude for the understanding and support of the Farmers’ Days community. We are fully committed to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all festival-goers, and we appreciate your patience as we navigate through these unforeseen circumstances.
