Westerra Stage 18 Land Use Bylaw Amendment Receives Second and Third Readings

The Westerra Stage 18 Land Use Bylaw Amendment received its first reading on January 8, 2024. The proposal amends a portion of NW ¼ Section 24-52-28-4 within the Land Use District Map from Future Development to R2 - Detached Dwelling Residential District, R5 - Small Lot Mixed-Form Residential District, P1 - Parks District, P3 - Utilities District while enabling zero lot line development. The proposed amendment aligns with the Municipal Development Plan, as well as the intent of the Lake Westerra Estates Area Structure Plan.

Following the public hearing held during last night’s meeting, Council approved the Westerra Stage 18 Land Use Bylaw Amendment by passing second and third readings.

Land Use Bylaw 2024 Update Receives First Reading

The Land Use Bylaw (LUB) update is a yearly process which provides administrative updates to the LUB and opportunity for strategic plan implementation. This year’s update focuses on administrative updates, including the consolidation and alignment of projections, the addition of previously undefined uses, and the introduction of new provisions to regulate planning bylaw notice signs.
