Stony Plain Public Library 2024 Funding Request

At last night’s Council Meeting, Board members Brenda Spitzer and Dawn Horne, presented the Stony Plain Public Library 2024 Funding Request to Council.
The library is asking for $569,500 for 2024. Administration has included this request as part of the Town’s 2024-2026 Corporate Plan for discussion.

Yellowhead Regional Library Presentation

The Yellowhead Regional Library (YRL) supports the frontline activities of 43 schools and public libraries in the region. The Town provides the YRL with an annual membership levy based on a per capita formula. At last night’s Council Meeting, the YRL provided Council with a presentation of their 2022 annual report and return on investment for the Stony Plain Public Library.

Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23

The Traffic Bylaw is responsible for regulating pedestrian and vehicle traffic within the corporate boundaries of the Town of Stony Plain. Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23 received first reading by Council on August 28, 2023. Additional amendments to Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23 were presented and included definitions for Mobility Aids, Pedestrian and Micromobility Devices, and updates to various sections and language for clarity. Council referred the amended Traffic Bylaw 2677/G/23 back to Administration.
