Second Midsummer Thursdays of the Season Set for July 17
STONY PLAIN, AB: Thousands of residents and visitors packed downtown Stony Plain on June 19 for the first Midsummer Thursdays of the year, one of the Town’s most anticipated summer traditions. The evening featured live music, family-friendly entertainment, local vendors, and a wide variety of food options, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of Stony Plain. Building on this momentum, the series will continue on July 17 and August 21, each promising an exciting evening showcasing the best of local culture, food, and community spirit.
“These events are a great example of what makes Stony Plain special,” says Mayor William Choy. “Midsummer Thursdays offer the perfect opportunity to connect with neighbours, see familiar faces, and feel that strong sense of community Stony Plain is known for.”
“Midsummer Thursdays have become a signature summer event in Stony Plain,” says Chantelle Laberge, Culture and Tourism Development Officer. “These events offer a unique opportunity for residents and visitors to explore the heart of Stony Plain, support local businesses, and experience the rich talent and creativity of local artists and entrepreneurs.”
The July 17 event will feature live musical performances by The River Poets, Megan Paige, and Chris Arnold. A number of crowd favourites will also be returning to provide family-friendly entertainment throughout the evening. Guests can look forward to appearances by Balloon Artist Russ, Sparkle Fairy Glitter Tattoo, Hulla Hoop Circus, Caricatures by Simon, along with Peppa Pig and Mike Wazowski from Marvelous Mascots.
Attendees can also enjoy a wide selection of food and beverages from vendors such as MerMosSa Pinoy Food Truck, Sheeba Street Feed, El Mero Mero Taqueria, Bakerstreet Eats, Boss Dogz, Choco Strawberry Euphoria, Big Wayne’s Mini Treats, Hema’s Lemonade, Bakecraft Boutique Bakery, Chatter’s Pizza & Cafe, Fresh Grill, Great North Cookie Company, Maverick’s Donuts, and Twisted Charcuterie.
