Statement from the Town on Passing of Prince Philip

It was with heavy hearts the Town received the announcement of his Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh’s passing this morning.

Mayor William Choy says, “The Duke of Edinburgh’s compassion and dedication to public service inspired many around the world and throughout our province. On behalf of Council and Administration we wish to extend our sincerest condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family. The Duke of Edinburgh’s legacy will live on through those he loved and those he inspired.”

The Town flags have been lowered to half-mast as a sign of respect and mourning of the passing of Prince Philip.
