An open house for Stony Plain Central School Servicing Project will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 4-7pm at the Stony Plain Community Centre (5008-51 ave).

The project will involve extending the road from the west end of 57 avenue, and installing new underground infrastructure and a round-a-bout. The anticipated start date is July 15 with a targeted completion date of October 18, 2019. These dates are weather dependant.

There will be increased traffic along 57th avenue. Construction signs will be put in place cautioning motorists and pedestrians as safety is the Town’s top priority.

Representatives from Sameng Consulting and the Town of Stony Plain will be available at the Open House to answer any questions or concerns from residents on the construction project.

In March 2018, the province announced the replacement of Stony Plain Central School. The school is anticipated to be open for the fall 2021 school year. The Town is required to provide the necessary infrastructure services (road, underground) to meet the requirements of the new school. Town administration is working in partnership with Parkland School Division and Alberta Infrastructure to complete the project.
