February is seen as the month of connection, with Valentine's Day on February 14 and the annual Family Day celebration on the third Monday. This year, residents are encouraged to not only connect with their families and friends, but to widen their circle of love to include neighbours and the community. Let’s use this opportunity to strengthen our community spirit.

For the FEBRUARY CONNECTION CHALLENGE, we challenge you to complete seven days of connecting from February 14 to February 21 using suggestions on our Community connection card. Once complete, return the card for your chance to win prizes including a grand prize of a $200 gift card. We have chosen activities that you are likely already doing. Do them mindfully - connect with purpose! The goal is to connect with at least seven people over the week, but the more the merrier!

This challenge is designed as a tool to help you check in on each other, have some fun and make connections; family, friends or neighbours – a little gesture on your part may be just what is needed to brighten someone’s day.

“February is the month of connection and we want to encourage families and individuals to get involved with the challenge and raise our community spirit. Small things can make a big difference,” said Deanna Butz from the Town of Stony Plain FCSS. In the spirit of celebrating Family Day, “reach out, connect and enjoy the company of others while adhering to COVID guidelines.”
