Living with Loss to Suicide Day
Community members are invited to join the Living with Loss to Suicide Healing Day. This event takes place the third Saturday each November and is for individuals impacted by suicide loss. The event includes a keynote speaker, lunch, and healing activities. This event is for ages 16+.
The event takes place at Heritage Park on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10AM to 4PM. Tickets are free of charge but registration is required as limited tickets are available.
Keynote Speaker
Kristopher Marks (he/him)
Kristopher Marks is the owner and founder of VĪV Mental Health, an initiative dedicated to developing and facilitating mental health education to businesses, school classrooms, and non- profit organizations across Canada. Kris is a Certified Psychological Health & Safety Advisor (Canadian Mental Health Association), a Red Seal Journeyman machinist, professional musician, writer, and keynote speaker. His personal story of surviving suicide, houselessness, and living with PTSD has been shared with audiences around the world. Kris is a volunteer with various community outreach and harm-reduction programs in Edmonton, Alberta, and is a passionate advocate for improving access to mental health resources and support. He is also the host and producer of the VĪV Mental Health Podcast. Kristopher Marks shares his inspiring personal journey of surviving suicide and houselessness, and what motivated him to become a passionate mental health advocate, educator, and business owner. Through a blend of thoughtful storytelling, candid insights, and audience interaction, Kris unravels the complexities surrounding suicide and weaves them into an engaging conversation filled with hope, honesty, and forgiveness.
