The Stony Plain Golf Course has cross-country ski trails open during the winter. You can access the trails from Fairway Drive, just east of the golf course entrance and the Fairway Green gated community. Ski trails Rules:

Public SkatingTemporarily CANCELLED until further notice due to COVID-19 The arena is open for FREE public skating September through March.
You do not need to book in advance. There is a 50-person capacity limit on the ice at all times. Doors open 15 minutes prior to the skating start time. Staff will continue to monitor the number of people on the ice. Public Skating is sponsored by Tim Hortons. Private Clubs and GroupsYou may inquire about booking ice time at Glenn Hall Centennial Arena for your club or group.

The Umbach Off-leash Dog Agility Course is free to use and based on a course used for the 2015 IFCS World Agility Championship. It features 21 obstacles for both beginner and advanced dogs and trainers.

The Town of Stony Plain operates five outdoor ice surfaces. Physical distancing must be followed when using the rinks. All rink shacks are currently closed. Benches are available for skate tying only. Consider others and limit your time when others are waiting. Rink Maximums: 10 skaters on the ice at one time Rotary Park/South Creek Oval Maximum: 30 skaters on the ice at one time Alberta Health Services has directed that no shinny and/or pick up games are permitted at this time. ClosuresOutdoor rinks will be closed if the weather is below -20 degrees, in times of heavy snowfall or unseasonably warm temperatures. If you choose to use the rinks in these conditions, be aware the rinks will be unsupervised and the change rooms will be closed.

There are over 43 kilometers of trails in Stony Plain. The trail system links our community together. You may use the trails for biking, walking, rollerblading, and jogging. Some parts of the trail system are wheelchair accessible. |

Willow Park Natural Area |

Willow Park Natural Area is a natural urban reserve east of the Willow Park subdivision. You can find native grasses, trees and shrubs in the area as well as many small birds and wildlife. The area has over 150 meters of trails running through it. |
