Alberta Corporate Income Tax 
The General Corporate Tax rate in Alberta is 8%, the lowest among the Canadian provinces. For those claiming the Province's Small Business Deduction (SBD), the corporate tax rate is just 2%.

Alberta Personal Income Tax

The Alberta tax bracket is as follows:

  • 8% up to $60,000
  • 10% from 60,000.01 to $151,234
  • 12% from $151,234.01 to $181,481
  • 13% from $181,481.01 to $241,974
  • 14% from $241,974.01 to $362,961
  • 15% from $362,961.01 and above

Federal Corporate Income Tax 
The Federal corporate rate is 38%. A Federal abatement of 10% and a general tax reduction of 13% could reduce the gross rate to just 15% (7.5% for manufacturers of qualifying zero-emission technology). With small business deduction (SBD), the net tax rate can be as low as 9%.

Employment Insurance (EI)
The yearly max insurable income per employee is $65,700. The Employee Contribution Rate is 1.64%. The Employer Contribution Rate is 2.296%.

Federal Personal Income Tax

The Federal tax bracket is as follows:

  • 15% on the first $57,375, plus
  • 20.5% on the next $57,375 (on the portion over $57,375 up to $114,750), plus
  • 26% on the next $63,132 (on the portion over $114,750 up to $177,882), plus
  • 29% on the next $75,532 (on the portion over $177,882 up to $253,414), plus
  • 33% of taxable income over $253,414.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) 
The General Sales Tax for Canada is 5%.
